Cisco Networking Solutions
The demand for anytime, anywhere, any-device network access has become a workplace mandate but has also introduced new, complex IT challenges. Cisco’s enterprise networking product line meets these challenges. Cisco’s end-to-end solutions provide the resilience, scalability and security needed to support the requirements of mission-critical applications, the impact of voice and video, and the proliferation of mobile devices.
Cisco’s Borderless Networks—a comprehensive architecture that incorporates routing, switching, mobility, security and WAN optimization—forms the core of Cisco’s networking solutions. It enables IT departments to more effectively manage their networks through a service-centric foundation and a set of common operational attributes. It delivers an intuitive workflow-oriented user experience across Cisco architectures, technologies and networks to simplify network management, improve operational efficiency, speed troubleshooting, and increase network services predictability. Converged user and access management for wired and wireless networks provide endpoint and policy visibility for increased operational efficiency.
Sigma’s Cisco practice draws upon its data center roots to add tremendous value to these cutting-edge solutions. Sigma engineers are adept at architecting high-performance infrastructures that meet enterprise availability and data integrity demands. Sigma’s time-tested expertise and best practices can help organizations take full advantage of the benefits of Cisco’s portfolio of innovative networking solutions.
Cisco Unified Computing System
The Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) unites compute, network, storage access, and virtualization resources in a single energy-efficient system that can reduce IT infrastructure cost and complexity and improve business agility. The Cisco UCS combines a “wire once” unified fabric with an industry-standard computing platform in a scalable, modular architecture that is managed as a single system.
Cisco’s fabric-based architectural approach consolidates what today are three separate networks: LANs, SANs and high-performance computing networks. This lowers costs by reducing the number of network adapters, switches and cables and decreasing power and cooling requirements. Support for a unified fabric also means that the Cisco UCS can access storage over Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet or iSCSI. Cisco security, policy enforcement and diagnostics features are extended into dynamic virtualized environments to better support changing business and IT requirements. Management is integrated into all the components of the system.
A recent Gartner report recognized the growing importance of fabric-based computing as a platform for virtualization and cloud computing. With its expertise in data center solutions, Sigma Solutions is well-positioned to help organizations design a fabric-based infrastructure that leverages Cisco UCS as the foundation for virtualization, cloud computing and green IT.
Cisco Collaboration Solutions
Cisco offers a comprehensive suite of collaboration solutions that help break down communication silos and enable workers to easily connect to the right people and information irrespective of location. These solutions offer workers a highly secure, manageable collaborative environment that integrates IP communications, conferencing, telepresence, messaging, social networking and mobile applications into one workspace.
Cisco’s collaboration strategy is built on an open, interoperable architecture, pervasive use of video and flexible deployment models. These tools promote the new way of working in which real-time, integrated communications and social software drive increased productivity throughout the distributed enterprise. Individuals and teams gain the power to choose what combination of content, media, and devices will make them most productive, and workers have the ability to search across all content, people and expertise within their organization. Mobile applications optimized for the Apple iPad and iPhone enable “deskless” employees to remain connected and engaged in interactions with their colleagues around the globe.
Sigma Solutions can design and implement robust, highly available converged networks to support collaboration and ensure that performance requirements are met. Sigma and Cisco can extend the enterprise to workers regardless of device or location, and create an immersive experience that accelerates decision-making and enhances customer service.
